EARLY YEARS
I started writing this memoir, Time Trials, in 2018. Daughter Shannon came up with the title that has a double meaning. My intent is to leave memories and observations on life for family and friends. The narrative takes a chronological approach, but midway drifts into cultural and social issues.
During the dark weeks and months of COVID-19 pandemic, this memoir has been joy telling. It sustained my attitude and zest for living. The writing took on a life of its own, continued to grow and expanded to 49 chapters plus an epilogue.
My intent is not to put a link to the story on my website, but to select chapters judiciously throughout the manuscript to initially include. In time, I will periodically change them out and, no doubt, eventually include them all–or most.
Son Philip is the webmaster for this venture. Designing websites is not his vocation, but I could not have enlisted a more skilled and creative artist.
I hope that you find my episodic tale engaging and encourage you to offer comments and observations, if so inclined.
